Looking for safe and effective dental services for your child?
Bring
them to Lila Wilson, DDS. We invite you to stay with your child with the initial examination. For future visits, you will have the option to stay with your child or wait in the waiting room.
Some children can listen and pay attention better if their parents are not present in the room, and the dentist can pay better attention to your child. It is your choice whether or not you accompany them back for treatment.
You can make the first visit to the dentist enjoyable and positive. If old enough your child should be informed of the visit and told that the dentist and their staff will explain all procedures and answer any questions.
The less to-do concerning the visit the better. It is best if you refrain from using words around your child that may cause unnecessary fear such as needle, shots, pull, drill, or hurt.
Children will be anxious at their first visit if the parents are nervous. The more relaxed you are the better for your child. Our staff uses child-friendly terms which are less intimidating and scary.
